Scott Schwertfeger, Pastor
Each day is a day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in those God-given gifts we receive from him!
How wonderful it is to serve as a pastor among the people of our congregation. It’s my desire to share Jesus with the people in Arlington, DeForest, Lodi, Poynette, Morrisonville, Rio and all the other little towns that make up the surrounding area.
I am blessed to have my wife Laura, who enriches my ministry and life. Together we have been blessed with four children.
Prior to coming to Zion, I graduated from Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minnesota) in 2000 and from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (Mequon, Wisconsin) in 2004. I also gained experience serving as a vicar – a pastoral intern – two blocks away from Lambeau Field at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin (2002-2003). In addition, I served as a pastor for six years at St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Grass Lake, Michigan (2004-2010).
Since that time I have been serving at Zion. We are fortunate to enjoy a little bit of the country life and a little bit of the small town life while still being a stone’s throw from Madison. Yet it’s not about the buildings or the cornfields; our happiness is found in the people we serve for Christ.
I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your story.
