A new Bible study on I Peter starts on Palm Sunday. It was written by one of the “inner circle” of Jesus’ Apostles after Jesus ascended into heaven. It was written for believers to recognize who they are in Christ and just what it means to live in the grace of God for our daily lives. Or as Peter says, it was written “to encourage you and testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it” (I Peter 5:12). We hope you will join us from now until the end of May to study this portion of the Word of God with us. Bible class is on Sundays from 9:15-10:10 am with Pastor Schwertfeger in the fellowship hall. Coffee and morning snacks with fellowship is always included.

Pine Car Derby
Sunday, March 18
You are invited to join us for some family fun at our Pine Car Derby. Enjoy quality time with your children and make some memories as you work together on a pine car project. If you've never done it before we encourage you to give it a try! Pine car kits are available free of charge on the glass case in the narthex at church. Kids of any age can make and race cars, and adults can too. You can work on your cars on your own at home, or if you need access to tools or support come to our pine car work day on Sunday, March 4th at 2:00 pm (call church for location). The day of the derby is Sunday, March 18th in our church fellowship hall. On that day we will have a meal at noon with drinks, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches provided. You are welcome to bring a dish to share to complete the meal. The races will start at 12:30 pm.
Mission to the Children Drive
Mission to the Children Drive
February through May
WELS Mission to the Children is a Christian, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel and feeding hungry children in Sonora, Mexico. Mission to the Children donations provide the Gospel and food to more than a thousand poor Mexican children and their families every month. In addition to food and humanitarian aid, Mission to the Children donations help support two Mexican pastors and their families called to serve Iglesia Evangelica Lutherano Confessional (IELC) congregations in Altar, El Sasabe, and several other towns and outlying villages in Sonora, Mexico.
Zion's Dorcas Society would like to collect items to be sent to Mission to the Children. The drive will run from February through May. Items you can donate include: school supplies, blankets, quilts, mittens, scarfs, winter hats, dental supplies (toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.), and baby and infant necessities (bibs, diapers, blankets, etc.). Please bring your donations to the box outside of the church office, and thank you for your generosity.
April 22 at 6:00 pm
Please join us for Zion's first ever book club discussion night. We want plenty of time to allow everyone who would like to participate time to read the book. Thus the date of the book club is April 22 at 6:00 pm. The location is at church. The book to be discussed is Same Kind of Different as Me, by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. We have a copy in the church library, and the book is also available at your local library. It should be a fun night of discussion, snacks, and fellowship. Join us!
