Are you involved in leading youth ministry, whether that be Sunday School, teen groups, or programs for parents and infants and toddlers? Would you like to be? Join us for the Western Wisconsin District's Sunday School and Youth Ministry Conference, this year held in Sparta, WI. From the keynote speech by Rev. Mark Zarling, president of Martin Luther College, to the wide variety of breakout sessions addressing different aspects of youth ministry this conference is designed for people who are enthusiastic about sharing Jesus Christ with the younger people in our congregations and communities to learn new ideas and be built up in their mission. The cost is only $20 per person and includes lunch. Click here for more information, or you can also visit the Western Wisconsin District's Youth & Family Ministry website at www.discipleshipwwd.org.
New Bible Class
Prepared to Answer: Telling the Greatest Story Ever Told
We all love a good story. It captivates us like nothing else. We often come in contact with people searching for answers to the problems of sin, heartache, hurt, and the emptiness of this world. What to give as an answer? Engage them in a story that will change their lives now and in eternity. Tell them a story about Jesus to answer such tough questions. Let the Holy Spirit work through it. Let us be prepared to give an answer for the hope we have in Christ.
Beginning at 9:15 am on October 21st in our Sunday Morning Adult Bible Class we will be going through the book Prepared to Answer: Telling the Greatest Story Ever Told. It helps us to answer such questions we might have as well as those around us might have such as: Does God exist? Do miracles really happen? What is God like? What does God say about marriage? How could I ever forgive that person? Does truth exist? How do I know if I'm a Christian? Each Bible class will be a separate lesson, so you can jump in or jump out regardless of your schedule. If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book please speak with Pastor Schwertfeger.
"In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." --1 Peter 3:15

During the month of October Zion's teen group Crossbridge is asking the members of Zion to help them gather personal essentials that Reach Out in Lodi will use for families in their community. Once we are done gathering these items, Crossbridge will head to Reach Out Lodi on November 11th to help stock their shelves with the personal essentials that you donated and get a tour of their facility. Please join Crossbridge in this wonderful opportunity to serve our local communities. For a list of needed items please click here.
